Can dogs eat catnip?
Yes — harmless for dogs, mildly calming.
Why
Catnip doesn't have the euphoric effect on dogs that it has on cats; if anything it's slightly sedative and can ease car-sickness. A sprinkle on food is fine.
How to serve it
A pinch of dried catnip on food, occasionally.

Rarely mild stomach upset.
How much catnip for my dog?
A daily maximum for a healthy adult dog, kept inside the 10% treat rule. Enter body weight.
Up to 2 g a day — a pea-sized piece · dried, pinch.
Treats of all kinds should stay under about 10% of daily calories. Puppies, kittens, seniors and pets with a medical condition: ask your vet first.
