Can dogs eat turmeric?

Why
Turmeric is non-toxic and is being studied for joint inflammation in dogs, but the evidence is early and the doses in 'golden paste' recipes vary wildly. A pinch on food is harmless; large amounts upset the stomach and stain everything.

How much turmeric for my dog?
A daily maximum for a healthy adult dog, kept inside the 10% treat rule. Enter body weight.
Up to 1 g a day — a pea-sized piece · pinch.
Treats of all kinds should stay under about 10% of daily calories. Puppies, kittens, seniors and pets with a medical condition: ask your vet first.
