Can dogs eat peaches?
Yes, the flesh — never the pit.
Why
Peach flesh is safe and gives fibre and vitamin A. The pit contains cyanide compounds, is a choking hazard, and its rough edges can damage the gut. Tinned peaches in syrup are too sugary.
How to serve it
Wash, remove the pit, slice the fresh flesh.
If they eat too much
Diarrhoea from too much; blockage or poisoning signs if a pit is eaten — vet immediately.
How much peaches for my dog?
A daily maximum for a healthy adult dog, kept inside the 10% treat rule. Enter body weight.
Up to 23 g a day — roughly 2 tablespoons (a small handful) · pitted, sliced.
Treats of all kinds should stay under about 10% of daily calories. Puppies, kittens, seniors and pets with a medical condition: ask your vet first.
