Can dogs eat green beans?
Yes — plain green beans are a vet-approved filler for dieting dogs.
Why
Low-calorie, high-fibre and full of vitamins, green beans are often recommended to bulk out meals for overweight dogs. Serve them plain: no salt, oil, garlic or onion.
How to serve it
Raw, steamed or frozen, chopped for small dogs. Tinned only if labelled no-salt.
If they eat too much
Gas or loose stools if a lot is eaten suddenly.
