Can dogs eat celery?
Yes — crunchy, low-calorie, and good for breath.
Why
Celery is mostly water and fibre with vitamins A, C and K. The stringy stalks can be a choking risk for small dogs, so chop it.
How to serve it
Wash, chop into bite-sized pieces, remove long strings for small dogs.
If they eat too much
Loose stools if a lot is eaten; choking on long pieces.
How much celery for my dog?
A daily maximum for a healthy adult dog, kept inside the 10% treat rule. Enter body weight.
Up to 30 g a day — roughly 2 tablespoons (a small handful) · chopped.
Treats of all kinds should stay under about 10% of daily calories. Puppies, kittens, seniors and pets with a medical condition: ask your vet first.
