Can dogs eat fruit juice?
Skip — concentrated sugar without the fibre.
Why
Even 100% fruit juice is a sugar hit with none of the fibre that makes whole fruit reasonable; grape juice is toxic. Diluted apple juice as a rare treat won't harm a healthy dog, but water is better.
What to do instead
Skip; give a slice of the fruit instead.
Symptoms to watch for
Diarrhoea, weight gain; grape juice kidney risk.
If your dog has eaten fruit juice, don't wait for symptoms.
Call your vet, or in the US the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435) or Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661), 24 hours a day. Have the amount, the time and any packaging ready.
