Can dogs eat gravy & stock cubes?
No — salt, fat and almost always onion or garlic.
Why
Gravy, stock cubes and meat juices are concentrated salt and fat and very often contain onion or garlic powder. A splash of unsalted homemade meat juice is fine; shop gravy isn't.
What to do instead
Skip; use unsalted, allium-free bone broth instead.
Symptoms to watch for
Thirst, vomiting, diarrhoea; onion/garlic anaemia; pancreatitis.
If your dog has eaten gravy & stock cubes, don't wait for symptoms.
Call your vet, or in the US the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435) or Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661), 24 hours a day. Have the amount, the time and any packaging ready.
