Can dogs eat cream & whipped cream?
Skip — fat and lactose; the 'puppuccino' is a myth of moderation.
Why
Cream is mostly fat, which triggers pancreatitis in susceptible dogs, and contains lactose. A tiny lick is harmless for most healthy dogs; a cup is not.
What to do instead
Skip, or a fingertip lick.
Symptoms to watch for
Vomiting, diarrhoea, pancreatitis.
If your dog has eaten cream & whipped cream, don't wait for symptoms.
Call your vet, or in the US the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435) or Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661), 24 hours a day. Have the amount, the time and any packaging ready.
