Can cats eat bananas?
Technically fine, practically pointless.
Why
A cat can eat a small piece of banana without harm, but the sugar load is high for a carnivore and most cats will sniff and walk away, which is the right call.
How to serve it
A pea-sized piece if they insist. Not for overweight or diabetic cats.
If they eat too much
Soft stools if a cat eats a large piece.
How much bananas for my cat?
A daily maximum for a healthy adult cat, kept inside the 10% treat rule. Enter body weight.
Up to 1 g a day — a pea-sized piece · peeled, pea-sized.
Treats of all kinds should stay under about 10% of daily calories. Puppies, kittens, seniors and pets with a medical condition: ask your vet first.
