Can dogs eat chocolate-covered anything?
No — chocolate is toxic regardless of what's inside.
Why
Chocolate-covered peanuts, raisins, pretzels or cups combine theobromine with other hazards (raisins are kidney-toxic; nuts are fatty).
What to do instead
Never.
Symptoms to watch for
Vomiting, restlessness, racing heart, tremors — call your vet with the amount eaten.
If your dog has eaten chocolate-covered anything, don't wait for symptoms.
Call your vet, or in the US the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435) or Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661), 24 hours a day. Have the amount, the time and any packaging ready.
