Can dogs eat marshmallows?
Skip — sugar, and sugar-free versions contain xylitol.
Why
A regular marshmallow is pure sugar and gelatine, harmless once but pointless. Sugar-free marshmallows contain xylitol and are dangerous.

Symptoms to watch for
Stomach upset; xylitol emergency from sugar-free versions.
If your dog has eaten marshmallows, don't wait for symptoms.
Call your vet, or in the US the ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center (888-426-4435) or Pet Poison Helpline (855-764-7661), 24 hours a day. Have the amount, the time and any packaging ready.
