Can dogs eat anchovies?
Fresh or unsalted tinned anchovies, a few — cured ones are too salty.

Why
Anchovies are small, low-mercury fish rich in omega-3. Most tinned anchovies are heavily salted and packed in oil; look for plain ones or rinse well.
How to serve it
One or two rinsed anchovies for a medium dog, occasionally.
If they eat too much
Thirst and stomach upset from salt.
How much anchovies for my dog?
A daily maximum for a healthy adult dog, kept inside the 10% treat rule. Enter body weight.
Up to 8 g a day — about 1 tablespoon · unsalted or rinsed.
Treats of all kinds should stay under about 10% of daily calories. Puppies, kittens, seniors and pets with a medical condition: ask your vet first.
