Can cats eat rice?
Plain cooked rice in small amounts.

Why
Safe and sometimes used with boiled chicken for a cat with an upset stomach, but cats get little from grain. Not a regular food.
How to serve it
A teaspoon or two of plain cooked rice mixed into food, short-term.
If they eat too much
Loose stools if it replaces too much of the normal diet.
How much rice for my cat?
A daily maximum for a healthy adult cat, kept inside the 10% treat rule. Enter body weight.
Up to 4 g a day — about a teaspoon · boiled, plain.
Treats of all kinds should stay under about 10% of daily calories. Puppies, kittens, seniors and pets with a medical condition: ask your vet first.
