Can cats eat honey?
Harmless in a drop, but useless.
Why
Cats can't taste sweetness and don't need sugar. A lick won't hurt a healthy adult cat.
How to serve it
Skip, or a drop at most.
If they eat too much
Stomach upset if more than a lick.
How much honey for my cat?
A daily maximum for a healthy adult cat, kept inside the 10% treat rule. Enter body weight.
Up to 1 g a day — a pea-sized piece · a drop.
Treats of all kinds should stay under about 10% of daily calories. Puppies, kittens, seniors and pets with a medical condition: ask your vet first.
